Description This is a four-panel journey through emotion and movement, rendered in the vivid language of abstract expressionism. Each quadrant is an exploration of color dynamics and textural contrasts, invoking the raw spontaneity of feeling through the fluidity and intensity of paint. The work celebrates the unpredictable nature of emotions, depicted through bursts of color and layered brushwork that create a rhythmic yet chaotic harmony. Drawing inspiration from the spontaneity of Jackson Pollock and the emotive color play of Mark Rothko, the piece strives to embody the unspoken narratives that lie within the subconscious, each stroke a wordless dialogue between artist and canvas.
Paisley Marten, Dallas Member Since March 2024 Artist Statement From the age of 3, when I received my first framed art of Frida Kahlo, creativity has been my steadfast companion. As a writer and artist, each contributes to the symphony of my life. In my studio, I have been playing with colors and textures since high school. Much like a conductor guiding an intimate ensemble of imagination, the canvas becomes my orchestra, and every brushstroke plays a note in the composition of my artistic journey.
